MARCH 7 - 12, 2017

The Sonnet,
Producers Club
358 West 44th Street
New York, NY 10036

A finalist for the 1983 Pulitzer Prize in Drama, this American classic explores alternatives that might spring from the demented terrain of the California landscape. Sons of a desert dwelling alcoholic and a suburban wanderer clash over a film script. Austin, the achiever, is working on a script he has sold to producer Sal Kimmer when Lee, a demented petty thief, drops in. He pitches his own idea for a movie to Kimmer, who then wants Austin to junk his bleak, modern love story and write Lee's trashy Western tale.

Cast and Creative team

Joe Ford (Austin) Joe is making his New York stage debut as Austin. From Arkansas, he went to Nashville where he accidentally discovered a love of improv. Joe moved to New York to complete his training with Bill Esper at the William Esper Studio. He would very much like to be a nomad in the desert, but the city will do for now. He just wants to say thank you: to the Team, the Fam, and the Wife.
